About Dr. Silverman


Dr. Silverman was born in New York City, New York. He attended high school in Freeport, New York and college at Union College in Schenectady, New York. Dr. Silverman went to medical school at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Silverman did a General Surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and Orthopedic residency at State University of New York, Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn.


After residency, Dr. Silverman completed a combined microsurgery/hand and upper extremity fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, in Miami, Florida. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and has performed well over 6,000 orthopedic surgeries.


He is a member of several professional orthopedic organizations including Fellowship in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, is a member in the American Society of Surgery of the Hand, and also is a Fellow of The American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians.


Dr. Silverman's practice is limited to Forensic (Medical-Legal) Consulting for Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury, as well as Second Opinion and Surgical Consultations pertaining to the entire orthopedic musculoskeletal system. He evaluates the injured party, reviews medical records and renders his opinions in a comprehensive medical report. When indicated, he is available to give testimony as an Expert Witness.


Presently, Dr. Silverman continues to be active athletically and is an avid golfer. He has coached many years in youth sports including Little League Baseball and Football. Dr. Silverman is on the Board of Trustees at one of the finest preparatory schools in the Los Angeles area.


In honor of his parents, Dr. Silverman has founded a scholarship for "first generation" college students from California at his alma mater, Union College in Schenectady, New York.
